Code Update Seminar:
IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN THE CODE UPDATE CLASS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RENEW YOUR PLUMBING LICENSE IN 2010
In about two weeks, the state will be mailing out the plumbing license renewal apps. You will only get a renewal app if you took the code update class. If you did not take the class, then the state will mail you a letter telling you that you are ineligible to renew your license. If you get this letter instead of the renewal form and wish to keep your plumbing license, contact the school. If we have enough stragglers, we will offer a class at the school. If not, we can direct you to the Michigan Mechanical Contractors Association website, where you can take the test online.*** New code books will be for sale for $46.***
The first Red Seal / UA STAR training class is underway. If you are interested in either UA STAR Pipefitter certification or the Canadian Red Seal steamfitter's license, contact the school.
Master Plumber License Preparation Class:
Next class - April 6, 2010 focusing on taking the state test in June.

Welding Classes:
The next welding / brazing test will be held on April 10, 2010. If you are interested in testing please call the training center. We will hold a Welding test on the first Saturday of each month unless it falls on a holiday weekend. You can also come in on a test day to maintain you Medical Gas Brazing Continuity, Re-certify your Brazing, or maintain you Welding Continuity. You have to call the training center to schedule any of these sessions.

OSHA 10:
Travelers - Some Local Union's jurisdiction jobs require that you arrive with an OSHA 10 safety certification in hand. The Training Center will conduct classes on an as needed basis when there is sufficient interest. Please call the Training Center if you are interested in signing up for the next class.
OSHA 10 will be a minimum requirement for the spring outage at DC Cook. Anyone interested in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training please contact the school. We are currently running and scheduling more of these classes.
The course requires 10 hours of mandatory attendance.
Backflow/Cross Connection Re-Certification:
Successful completion of this class renews the student's ASSE Backflow Tester certification for 3 years. Please contact the school if you are intrested in this course as the class will run as demand requires. Class fee $30
Medical Gas Installer & 40 Hour Certification:
This class provides instruction resulting in a certification in both medical gas installation and brazing. Class dates - Cost is $150 and includes a NFPA codebook. - Payment is due in full to hold your spot in this class.

Backflow Assembly Testers:
The Backflow Assembly wet lab is available for your use every Monday from 8:00am - 3:00pm

Rigging Fundamentals:
Will begin the week of October 6. This 32 hour class is a reqquired prerequisite to the UA Rigging certification class which will follow shortly after this class. Students are required to purchase the UA Rigging Manual for $20.
Certified Foreman's Training:
This program was developed by the UA/ MCA. The cost is $150, which includes a maual, some individual tests and a video.
